We got a call to battle stations, beating out the good vibrations Along the way we serve the nation, now we need a little conservation It's our natural inclination, it's almost time for pollination Don't you wonder how we cope, even when our wings are heavy Chorus It's the spirit of the beehive There's no job application, you fly around you need to be patient Every little action gets us traction, it's all about the organisation You get your orders from the captain, he hgets his orders from the queen We get the job done between us, you can't say fairer than that Chorus Outro It's the spirit of the beehive / We love the bees

Verse Where have you been, amongst the missing? Did you spend your time in a fucked up dream Were your eyes open - as you were frozen, They say you didn't blink for a thousand years Bridge The cold head opens up its eyes and wonders how many times? The cold head tries to raise a smile it's very hard to sympathise Chorus The cold head cries Verse See what youve done, all those happy endings You plant the seed and the people believe Now look what we've found in the back of your mind, Its another happy ending It's time for you you to think again Bridge and Chorus Outro and he never writes home (the cold head cries) he's lost a lot of weight there's a dull look in his eyes check his pulse its fading shall we send him to the hospital

I found an ear down in the turf just lying there bloody I had an urge to investigate this was not funny I picked up the hearer and popped it in my pocket before I was bored so I'd better not knock it so baby it's cold inside I took the lughole to show my buddy I asked for help she happened to be lovely she gave her consent and all of a sudden we were in deep trouble there were some symbols and warnings of where not to go we kept our composer and stayed on the trail of the other ear so baby it's cold inside running around in a classic small town cranking up the tension our young detectives are doomed by a drip in the soundtrack to get near the hearer they hopped over a white picket fence take a tin opener to your mind see weird scenes inside so baby its cold inside x 4 can you fix me up so baby its cold inside

Get With It 03:19
'Someone oughta put the fish back in the river....................they'll be so happy in the swim'

Everybody's on the dance floor now.. even uncle Pete he rarely leaves his seat ....even the unstable special constables are tapping their toes ...anything goes ...but hey Tommy's in the army now Tommy's in the army now ... he'd better get his fortune told ... has anybody seen the door to the dream. Look over there ...strewn across the floor in the function room there's a body lying on the bar ....as we see deer hunters disappear ...maybe they'll be back next year ...drinking the undrinkable till time ...thinking the unthinkable ..ammo in your mind ...waiting for a skeleton crew anything goes Tommy's in the army now
6.
Racing Mind 03:20
First the trial and then the error of your ways from alpha to oblivion tell me how tell me how you gonna keep yourself together ...working up a sweat on a sunny afternoon .. break-in' the ice in a very cold room ...so you've got a taste for adventure don't spend it all at once you've got to live forever So fire up your force fields .. gather up the autumn leaves you've got no-one to play with you've got a racing mind swept in like a guarantee you soon fell apart you've got a racing mind take a tip from Lou Reed take a stroll down the boulevard how can you breathe when everything damn thing is so synchronised ...and the terrorist get to dress up and call themselves the good guys ..whatever happened to the journalists they've been turned around working for the government So fire up your force fields

Tina 02:36
I've seen her pictures on the tragic lantern screen ...I've seen her fooling round in places that she's been ..She said let's keep in touch by very modern means ...I've found a new love she never makes a scene now she's got my number she lives upon the Humber she knows my reputation so far apart ive never really seen her but I'm getting on very well with Tina the way she talks to me sometimes she's she tells me she's not the one who's not correct she's not sure I'm the one she will select let's dance around a baobab tree / I'm not sure of her locality / just you and me

I hope you don't mind me announcing my private parts are bouncing I thought you might find it amusing as announcements go forgive me I had to get your attention I won't mention it again now that's out the way Dance of the Dreamers on and on ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh There's a light that never goes out you can't see it now you've got doubt your impossible schemes soon sorted out there's a light that ... some say my stories are fantastic I've got angels in the attic they roam around without a sound drinking Chardonnay all day

Are we just sunken treasures lying on the ocean floor waiting to be uncovered maybe by Jacques Cousteau Searchlights in the gloom were keeping our heads down we're dropping in on someone else's city we're taking the necessary steps maybe the sands of time have passed you by Waiting for the archaeologists Out of the blue somebody sunk our boats under a permanent wave

about

The Angel has landed…..from West London and South Wales come the Cold Head with their second album 'Angels in the Attic.' A collection of Art-pop with some rock thrown in, afro beats with some prog thrown in, art funk with even a bit of bhangra thrown in; the Cold Head push as many buttons as possible on one album. Beatlish shadows ('Spirit of the Beehive') 80s film references ('Baby it's Cold Inside') bang up to date grooves ('The Cold Head’, 'Waiting for the Archeologists') straight ahead rockers ('Get With It’, 'Racing Mind'). A welcome return with a command performance, powerful and poignant.

Led by Doug Stephens (Modern Humans) the album was co-produced by Tim Whelan (Furniture, Transglobal Underground), and there's more than an echo of Furniture, one of the 80's more enigmatic cult bands, in the mix.

"Clever, contemporary, cool…an album you will turn to time after time" Welsh Connections

Songwriting contributions from Brendan Shelly, Marco Cristaudo, Bryan Evans and Hamid Mantu. Artwork by Paul Battenbough. Lend them your ears and your attic, people.
